Sun Ray Software 4 has announces enhanced multimedia playback capabilities on the Sun Ray 2 family of clients. Network resources are limited which is why this software is ideal since it no longer takes large amounts of processor power. It can decode streams on the client side and keep the data in a compressed state until it reaches its destination on the Sun Ray client.

Some other enhancements include:

• Conserve network bandwidth by having video streams sent directly to the Sun Ray clients instead of the Sun Ray server
• Eliminate risk of data theft and costly security vulnerabilities
• No operating system or software to upgrade physically at the desktop
